Job Summary -



UniFirst Corporation is seeking to add a full time Business Analyst to be a Product Owner in our growing IT Department.In this role you will join a growing team where you will collaborate with a wide range of intelligent, dynamic colleagues using SAP Hybris. The Product Owner (PO) is a member of the Agile Product Team responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog. This is an instrumental role in driving day to day development for an Omni-Channel eCommerce program that generates multi-million dollar business value to the organization by providing our customers with a modern, relevant and personalized digital shopping experience across the company's digital properties. Responsible for streamlining the execution of team priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features/ components for the team. The PO has a significant role in quality control and is the only team member empowered to accept stories as done. This PO role will support the Omni-Channel eCommerce agile product team(s). This role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the local team, including working with Product Management, who is responsible for the Program Backlog, to prepare for the Program Increment (PI) Planning meeting.


Responsibilities:


Client Enablement -

  • Works with the business to implement portal solutions to support our growing customer base
  • Works with customers to streamline the procurement process, including Punchout capability, incoming purchase orders, and invoicing. 
User Story Development -
  • Works with product management and stakeholders to align on business value, problem statements, and customer pain points that are strategic priorities for the company's initiatives
  • Provides subject matter expertise - explaining product vision and user stories to the team to ensure requirements are understood and customer value is delivered
  • Collaborates with development team to elaborate and define technical learnings into refined and prioritized backlog items that align to Iteration Objectives
  • Responsible for assuring a level of quality has been achieved by validating that the Story meets acceptance criteria and has met acceptance tests and approves stories as complete
  • Responsible to update product management on Story status to align on delivery expectations
Team Backlog Ownership/Prioritization
  • Partner with Product Management, who is responsible for the Program Backlog, to assist in preparing for the Program Increment (PI) Planning meeting
  • Identify the potential enablers and spokes for discussion in the Program Increment
  • Drafts the team's objectives and defines features for the Program Increment session and collaborates with the team to produce the PI system demo and the Product Owner presents it to program stakeholders
  • Participate in the development of business plans with other members of the cross functional team supporting the strategy of our online portals
  • Identify new areas of portal opportunity beyond current organizational thinking
Program Increment Planning
  • Partner with Product Management, who is responsible for the Program Backlog, to assist in preparing for the Program Increment (PI) Planning Meeting
  • Identify the potential enablers and spikes for discussion in the Program Increment
  • Drafts the team's objectives and defines features for the Program Increment session
  • Collaborates with the team to produce the PI system demo and the Product Owner presents it to program stakeholders
  • Participate in the development of business plans with other members of the cross-functional team supporting the strategy of our online portals
  • Identify new areas of portal opportunity beyond current organizational thinking
Maintain Conceptual and Technical Integrity of Features/Components
  • Partner with design function to consider usability testing and end-user feedback to ensure product will address and resolve user pain points
  • Manage the user experience of the portal including catalog, navigation, content development, checkout funnel, and promotional campaigns
  • Provide architecture and development teams sufficiently detailed feedback on user stories and product vision to ensure the team maintains the technical integrity of features/functionality

Qualifications
Education -
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Math, or any related field from an accredited institution with a technology or marketing focus
Additional Requirements
  • Proficient skills in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote, OneDrive, Visio)
  • Ability to work calmly and constructively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed
  • Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Utilizes experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to upper management's directions accurately
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met
  • Capable of writing simple SQL queries a plus
  • Potential for up to 10% of travel required
