The Financial Operations Specialist (Coop) will serve as an integral member of the Financial Operations organization that provides centralized financial services support to UniFirst locations with tactical and project related responsibilities in support of the Accounts Payable, Cash Application and Accounts Receivable processes. This candidate will gain exposure to the transactional processes within the AP and AR processes with a tie-in to the accounting requirements for those respective processes.  The candidate must possess a service excellence mindset while demonstrating the ability to learn and utilize UniFirst financial systems required to support financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the returned check research and resolution process, reconciliation and abandoned property preparation by ensuring full resolution of payments that evolve into this category
  • Support the KPI, Metric and Financial Operations reporting process via assisting in the creation of dashboards focused on group results
  • Support the Financial Operations adjustments process by performing transactions as well as supporting analysis as required
  • Participate in Financial Operations Continuous Improvement initiatives that drive efficiency improvements within Financial Operations processes
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting of monthly Financial Operations P/L results
  • Provide exemplary customer service by developing a central financial services support model with assigned location representatives
  • Promptly respond to internal and external customer and vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications
  • High School diploma, Undergraduate program in process (Accounting or Finance)
  • Part time jobs, Internships or volunteer work that involved service
  • Proficient MC Office skills, including Excel and Powerpoint are required
  • Willingness and desire to contribute to continuous improvement
  • System Literate
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure & meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail & follow through are required
  • Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills
