The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations and for the duties set forth in the chart below and any other assigned duties.


  • Assists the manager with HR projects
  • Assists the HR Business Partner with Workforce segment needs
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions


Recruitment

  • Job posting AA requirements
  • Employment Application Intake
  • AA recordkeeping responsibilities
  • Schedule and conduct 1st round phone screen interviews for production positions
  • Assist with any post job offer duties – background checks, FCE, orientation packets, etc.
  • Send pre/post adverse letters when applicable
  • Maintain the Internal Job Posting program responsibilities such as maintaining the binder, internal apps box, logging of apps, etc.


On-Boarding

  • Coordinate all “BEFORE” new hire orientation responsibilities listed in the Orientation process work instruction. 


Employee Relations

  • Update employee bulletin boards; ie – employee entrance, etc.
  • Employee Suggestion Program administration
  • Develop and administer porcelain press and safety post cards
  • Attendance tracking and corrective actions
  • Assist with separation responsibilities if needed
  • Administer employee service award and birthday program
  • Administer the daily bingo program
  • Administer the employee of the month program
  • Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions.
  • Employee inquiries – policies, Ipay, etc.


Safety

  • Process accident reports by reviewing for accuracy, complete trending report, UNET safety log, OSHA log, work comp reporting, etc.
  • Administer the Daily Tailgate procedures and memo
  • Responsible for employee/visitor badges, replacement badges
  • Take an active role in accident investigations and injury management by thoroughly reviewing the accident reports, using investigation techniques, following injury management guidelines, etc.
  • Process accident reports by reviewing for accuracy, completing trending report, UNET safety log, Owensboro OSHA log, reporting to work comp carrier if applicable, creating work comp file if applicable, filing in accident binder, etc.


Qualifications
  • Previous HR experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Must have the ability to plan and coordinate work in an organized manner
  • Must be able to take initiative and work with little or no direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
