Tech Team Manager – Enterprise Integrations (MuleSoft Cloud Hub 2.0/ Azure)

2502215Unifirst seeks an experienced and motivated Technical Team Manager to lead our integration development team using MuleSoft Cloud Hub 2.0 and Azure Services. The ideal candidate will manage a nimble team of MuleSoft developers, oversee the design and implementation of API-led integration solutions using MuleSoft, Azure services, and ensure delivery excellence on Cloudhub 2.0/Azure env. This role requires a strong technical background in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform CH 2.0, MSFT Azure , leadership capabilities, and enterprise integration architecture.
Technical responsibilities
- Drive the design, development, and deployment of scalable APIs and integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Azure Services like Azure Functions, API, Service Bus
- Ensure best practices in MuleSoft and Azure development, including CI/CD, unit testing, API governance, security (Azure Key Vault integrations), and documentation.
- Oversee code reviews, technical documentation, and solution architecture design reviews.
- Stay updated on MuleSoft and Azure product updates and new features; drive adoption of new tools and methodologies.
- Develop integration strategies and roadmaps collaboratively with enterprise architects, ensuring seamless interoperability between MuleSoft APIs and Azure-native services.
- Provide hands-on support for complex integration challenges and help troubleshoot performance or reliability issues with DevOps
Cross-functional leadership responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, QA, and operations, to ensure alignment on project goals and delivery timelines.
- Work with the internal PMO, IT managers, and other functions to apply standard Integration solutions and processes. (reusable)
- Work closely with DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure teams to ensure that MuleSoft and Azure artifacts are deployed through automated, audit-ready pipelines (leveraging Azure Repos, Pipelines, and Artifacts).
Management responsibilities
- Work with the EIM leader on budget and Jira Time tracking. Monitor team performance and project progress with PM, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of MuleSoft developers and integration specialists. (Full-time and contractors), including hiring, performance management, and career development, to ensure alignment with defined goals
- Participate in daily scrums and various phases of the projects – initiate, discover, design, develop, optimize and deployment of API’s across MuleSoft and Azure Platforms.
- Continuously assess and improve the team structure within the Integration team while ensuring it aligns with immediate tactical and long-term strategic goals
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in Software Development, Integration Middleware API development, with at least 2+ years in MuleSoft integration development on Cloud Hub 2.0.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience integrating with Azure services, including Azure Key Vault, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure API Management, and Azure Functions.
- 3+ years of experience in team leadership or management role.
- Deep understanding of Custom Monitoring/Custom Application Alerts/Metrics/KPIs/Splunk Logging
- Strong expertise with the Mulesoft Anypoint Platform, including API Manager, Runtime Manager, and DataWeave.
- Strong experience with the Azure cloud platform, specifically Azure KeyVault, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, and Azure Artifacts.
- Solid experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integration flows.
- Technically well-versed in networking and deployment strategies w.r.t Disaster Recovery, Mule Clustering, Load Balancing, Private Spaces, and VPN/Network Connectivity configuration
- Ability to drive decisions & communicate with cross-functional teams to build trust & relationships with Business, DevOps, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, PMO, and other teams as needed.
- Strong working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and associated concepts such as XML Schemas, WS specifications, SOAP, Service Mediation/ESB, Digital certificates, Messaging(JMS/MQ/Kafka), etc.,
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Solid understanding of enterprise application integration (EAI) patterns and API-led connectivity.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
