The Senior ERP Business System Analyst provides strategic business systems analysis services to our business partners and Service Delivery team. Under general direction, provide a thorough analysis of business problems, define functional and non-functional requirements for technology solutions; manage requirements, translate them into solution specification and verify the fulfillment of all requirements. Strong partnership with business and technical teams to deliver application solutions with respect to value, quality, and end-user experience. Conduit between IT systems and business partners.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and have the ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Compare the present state of the Finance and/or HR business with a conceptual and desired future state and provide gap analysis; recommend process improvements.
- Identify and document emerging business requirements; engage with business partners, product owners, and IT managers to gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements to define solutions that deliver outstanding value to our partners.
- Accurately measures the contribution of IT projects to business value.
- Assess technological feasibility and business readiness in Finance and /or HR space.
- Identifies solution interdependencies.
- Stays abreast of and creates awareness of technological developments related to a business problem.
- Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and wireframes that effectively communicate requirements to the rest of the development team.
- Participate in sprint rituals such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives. Play an active role in the continuous improvement of our software delivery processes.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and/or develop test plans and execute testing of new and existing systems.
- Work with Finance and/or HR business and IT management to participate in all procurement steps; including RFP and SOW to assessment of submitted proposals and selection of a vendor/product/service, etc.
- Work with project managers, business partners, and service delivery to create testing plans based on the use-cases, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Conduct end-to-end testing on applications and technology, to ensure that business, technical, and functional requirements are being met, including the development of test cases, test scripts, and UAT protocols.
- Develop training materials and train employees; proactively assists with the identification of training and development requirements; presents findings and works with business partners to design and implement sustainable training and development initiatives that will continuously upgrade the skills and capabilities of staff.
- Participate/lead in continuous process improvement projects to develop efficient business processes and workflows; ensures proper implementation of improved processes within and outside of software systems.
- Provide support to the department on matters as directed; attends and participates in professional group meetings; maintains awareness of new trends and developments in the fields related to area of assignment; incorporates new developments as appropriate; ensures processes, policies, and practices are interpreted and applied consistently and effectively.
- Participates in all phases of the project lifecycle and ensures that standards are followed and the systems developed or modified are adequately tested or documented.
- Establishes standard documentation formats & methodologies for Requirements, Functional Specifications and System Documentation.
- Mentors analyst staff, coordinates exchange of knowledge, ideas and methods; maintains analysts’ library of resources. Teaches modeling methods and in general helps advance the knowledge & expertise of the group.
- Monitors developments in the industry and helps bring best practices to the finance and/or HR departments.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Understanding data mapping and system integration practices.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other department staff, management, and vendors.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
Requirements:
- 8 to 10 years of experience in ERP applications business analysis.
- Must have experience working on large scale projects, ERP applications such as Finance and/or HR as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business.
- Experience in PeopleSoft and/or Oracle Fusion application is a plus.
- Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate horizontally and vertically within an organization.
- Data analysis – Must have proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Excel.
