UniFirst Corporation’s Project Deliver team has an opening for an Oracle Cloud Technical Writer that will primarily focus on the Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) application. This role will join an established team to support our enterprise-wide Oracle ERP implementation training initiative. We are looking for an organized, resourceful individual, with strong technical writing and problem-solving skills to master OGL and strategize how to best utilize it to support our end users’ pre and post implementation. This role will be responsible for creating and managing all learning guides in Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) to make sure they are organized appropriately by role, clear and concise, effectively lead users throughout various processes and workflows within each Oracle Cloud Fusion module.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn/Navigate application systems as needed (i.e. OGL, UniFirst boundary systems, etc.).
  • Partner with IT and business teams as needed to help map Oracle guides to user roles in the system.
  • Create, revise, and manage content in Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) that is clear/concise and effectively lead users through processes within various Oracle Cloud Fusion modules.
  • Prepare, review, revise and maintain Oracle Guided Learning guides, smart tips and beacons, messages, tasks, mobile guides, and other Oracle Guided Learning related functions.
  • Test and validate OGL (Oracle Guided Learning) guides, smart tips and beacons based on Oracle and business best practice recommendations.
  • Gather information from technical and non-technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop, organize, and assist in writing procedures on Oracle Guided Learning material.
  • Complete revisions of all material related to software updates, changes in processes, and ensure all Oracle Guided Learning material is relevant and current.
  • Manage requests to update/change Oracle documentation provided by subject matter experts and quarterly system updates.
  • Work closely with the ERP Training and Documentation Manager to ensure documentation is well maintained and any risks are identified.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English or equivalent work experience/demonstrated ability.
  • Relevant work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience documenting Oracle Cloud Procurement, SCM, and Financials.
  • Experience with Oracle Guided Learning (OGL), or UPK, preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and prioritize effectively.
  • Solution-oriented with strong analysis skills.
  • Able to critically evaluate information from multiple sources.
  • Working knowledge of process mapping and change
  • Ability to work with different business areas to gather technical insights and tailor a custom solution to their workflows.
  • Proven ability to learn new applications and concepts quickly.
  • Proven experience as a technical writer or editor, preferably in a tech or software environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to understand and translate complex technical information.
  • Familiarity with content management systems and collaboration tools.
