Data Analytics Intern – Application Support Analytics

2502297The Data Analytics Intern will support the Application Support team by analyzing defect trends, incident volumes, and system performance metrics for the ABS platform and related custom-developed applications. This remote internship is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in enterprise data analytics, application monitoring, and IT service reporting.
The intern will contribute to operational dashboards, assist in generating executive summaries, and help identify opportunities for improvement based on data insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Data & Reporting Support
- Collect, clean, and organize data related to application incidents, defects, and support activity.
- Assist in building and maintaining dashboards and reports using Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Provide summaries of defect volumes, response times, and common issue categories.
Trend & Root Cause Analysis
- Support root cause tracking by correlating incident trends and defect recurrences.
- Identify recurring issues and propose categorization or escalation logic to support resolution efforts.
- Help measure the impact of resolved issues over time to track support effectiveness.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work with analysts and support managers to understand workflows and reporting needs.
- Document processes and build templates for recurring metrics reporting.
- Participate in virtual team meetings to review analytics deliverables and discuss trends.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, or other analytics and visualization tools.
- Exposure to incident management or support systems (ServiceNow, Jira) is a plus.
- Previous coursework or projects involving data cleaning, aggregation, or dashboard creation.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to real-world enterprise support analytics.
