Responsibilities

UniFirst First Aid + Safety is seeking a reliable and hardworking Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Specialist join our community. As a Team Partner in our Sales department, you will be responsible forleading and executing the strategic planning, analysis, negotiation, and integration of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. This role requires strong financial acumen, market analysis skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify and assess potential opportunities. Our standard is a 5-day work week, enjoy two days off a week. We have an immediate opening and provide on the job training.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identify acquisition targets and strategic partnerships aligned with long-term goals.
  • Conduct market and industry research to assess opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop an M&A strategy and roadmap.
  • Perform financial analysis and modeling to evaluate potential deals.
  • Lead the due diligence process, assessing financial, operational, legal, and regulatory aspects.
  • Evaluate risks and benefits associated with deals, providing recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance and other key teams to structure and negotiate deal terms, ensuring they align with corporate objections.
  • Draft term sheets, letters of intent (LOIs), and other documentation.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, including investment bankers and lawyers.
  • Develop and execute integration plans for smooth transitions of acquired businesses or assets. 
  • Collaborate with operations, HR, IT, and finance for effective post-merger integration.
  • Monitor the performance of acquired assets to ensure synergy targets are met.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential targets and stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in negotiations, presentations, and discussions related to M&A opportunities.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 5 years or more experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment banking or corporate development. 
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end M&A professes, from sourcing to integration.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and other financial tools. 
  • Knowledge of legal and regulator aspects of M&A preferred.
  • Experience working with private equity or venture capital firms preferred.
