At UniFirst, how we communicate with our people shapes how we work, grow, and support each other. With thousands of team partners across plants, trucks, and offices, our internal communications aren't just about sharing updates, they’re about building connection, trust, and alignment.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Internal Communications to lead that work. Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leaders—shape messaging and coach them on delivering communications that land with clarity and authenticity.
  • Guide project communications—own the rollout comms for key initiatives like systems launches, operational updates, or policy changes.
  • Support field and frontline teams—develop clear, actionable messaging that reaches non-desk employees where they are.
  • Celebrate our people and culture—highlight stories, service milestones, and recognition moments in ways that feel real and relatable.
  • Manage content and channels—email, intranet, print, video, mobile, and more—prioritizing formats that are accessible and engaging.
  • Lead and develop a small team—set direction, coach with care, and help your team thrive across a fast-moving slate of priorities.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 8–12+ years in internal or corporate communications, ideally in a field-based or operations-heavy business.
  • A strong track record of writing for executives and leading communication strategy for company-wide initiatives.
  • Confidence in managing messaging for change, growth, and operational complexity.
  • Clear, confident, human writing that connects with diverse audiences.
  • Experience leading a team and working cross-functionally across business units.
  • Agility to shift and respond to priorities in a fast-paced, transformational culture.
