The Automation Engineer Designer will work with the Engineering Controls Team, to install and troubleshoot Control Systems. The Candidate will use their knowledge of SQL and Programming to integrate data collection and retrieval services with the Systems. The Candidate will utilize their knowledge of Automated Control System including PLC, HMI, and Field Devices, and utilizes AutoCAD Drawings to design and deploy new control systems. The employee will travel to offsite locations to support and install PLC systems. 

Job Detail:

  • Troubleshoot, service, monitor, and deploy Automated Systems
  • Designs and Troubleshoots SQL Data Collection Interfaces.
  • Install and terminate field wiring.
  • Install, mount, and configure field devices.
  • Reference and update AutoCAD drawings.
  • Train operators and engineers on control systems.
  • Travel to UniFirst Locations (up to 50%)


    Qualifications
    • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equal technical training with job experience
    • Minimum 3 years of Process Control related design, operation and installation of such systems.
    • Experience with SQL data collection and storage.
    • Experience with a Coding Language (VB, C++, etc.)
    • Knowledge with working with PLC systems:
    • Knowledge with control system networking
    • Knowledge with AutoCAD, understanding of electrical schematics and circuitry.
    • The individual will possess basic maintenance and electrical skills.
    • Understanding of basic electrical wiring, mechanics, and safety.
    • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, which includes the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and vendors.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instruction.
    • Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
    • Must possess the ability to hear, talk, see, and distinguish between colors.
