UniFirst Corporation is recruiting for the following position located in Owensboro, KY.
Electronically designs and prepares art for the Emblem Manufacturing or Direct Embroidery operation. Works from electronic document(s) to create art based on job requirements, customer specifications, and other related design information. Operates computer and other peripheral electronic equipment to complete job assignments.
Job will require participation and compliance to all policies and procedures related to ISO (quality) and safety. Functions of this position may require occasional internet access and regular use of UniFirst E‐Mail. This will require review and acceptance of UniFirst’s; Electronic Record Retention and Internet Policy; Understanding and compliance with the Company’s Statement of Corporate Policy and Code of Conduct (The Code of Conduct) as well as the Electronic Records Retention Policy and Electronic Records Usage Guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Duties will include regular electronic written communication (design document log response) with Locations, Branches, Customer Service and other interoffice operations, therefore, all written and verbal communications should follow appropriate business format and language.
•Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy. Creates layouts based upon available space, aesthetic design and production requirements for embroidery and screen printing.
•Modifies and proofs existing design files for embroidery and screen print production.
•Provides support and follow up on special projects and exception requirements.
•Maintains regular communication with the Graphic Supervisor as necessary.
•Under the direction of the Graphics Department Supervisor or Operations Manager, occasionally may be required to perform other functions within the Personalization department (cross‐train), including Sample Preparation, Graphic Problem Resolution, and other production areas within Personalization and the Distribution Center.
•Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Art or related field, from an accredited college or university; or two or more years of design related job experience combined with High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Proficient skill in vector art creation in Adobe Illustrator or similar software required. Must possess functional knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
